Give God Your Home
A Practical and Spiritual Guide to Building a Christ-Centered Household
Making God the head of your home is not about perfection or religious performance. It is about daily surrender, giving Him intentional leadership rights, and maintaining an atmosphere where His presence is welcomed, honored, and obeyed. When God governs a home, love deepens, conflicts soften, wisdom increases, and children grow in security and faith.
Establishing God’s Presence Daily
We establish God’s leadership by maintaining consistent, ordinary Biblical practices that create sacred rhythms in our family routines, and as I have said in my last post you don't have to start big.
You Don’t Have to Start Big
If your home has felt spiritually dry lately, don’t overwhelm yourself trying to fix everything at once.
Start small.
Say a prayer before bed tonight.
Read one Psalm together this week.
Speak more gently tomorrow morning.
Invite God into the ordinary parts of your day.
Over time small acts of Godliness will change the atmosphere in our homes. Apply these proven steps.
1. Begin the Day with God
Starting the day with prayer or Scripture shifts the spiritual atmosphere before stress, activities and life's responsibilities rush in.
Simple ways to begin:
A short family prayer at breakfast
Reading a Psalm or Proverb aloud
Personal quiet time before others wake
Speaking blessings over children before school
Godly morning routines brings alignment that produces peace which is carried throughout the day.
2. Pray Together as a Family
Family prayer builds
unity,
trust,
and spiritual strength.
It teaches children that God is not distant—He is involved in everyday life.
Prayer times do not have to be long to be powerful:
Before meals
At bedtime
During difficult situations
When celebrating victories
When interceding for others
Consistency matters more than length.
3. Make Scripture Visible and Active
A home centered on God keeps His Word close.
Application:
Place Bibles in shared spaces
Display encouraging verses on walls
Memorize Scripture together
Discuss biblical principles during normal conversations
When Scripture becomes part of everyday life, faith becomes natural rather than forced
4 Leave room for open and frank discussions
As parents we often trywith our children about, why we believe what we believe. Never leave questions unanswered. Seek help when questions prove challenging.
A Final Encouragement from DabaR™

At DabaR™, we believe a home rooted in God’s Word becomes more than just a place to live — it becomes a place where faith grows, hearts are heal, and future generations are shaped.
Our goal is not perfection. Our goal is creating an atmosphere that will entertain and detain God’s presence.
When God truly becomes the center of our home, even ordinary moments will carry love, joy, peace, warmth, and divine purpose.
